The start of GreenChamp Bikes

GreenChamp bamboo balance bikes is the brainchild of Daniel and Sunny. Sunny went around the world on a solo expedition that spanned 6,123 km on his first handmade bamboo bicycle. After returning, he met his Dutch Cycling partner, Daniel, who shared the same passion for cycling and bamboo.

 

After studying children’s balance bikes already in the market, they noticed many of them were not sustainably made, using materials like plastic, plywood and aluminum. These non-sustainable materials have a negative impact on the environment, therefore they saw a big opportunity to create the GreenChamp – made almost entirely out of bamboo!

 

They spent 2 years at the drawing board and came up with a bamboo balance bike for children as young as 18 months to 5 years, with the aim of bringing the joy of riding a bamboo bike to the youngest of us.

 

GreenChamp only employs local villagers in Guangzhou, China, who have extensive experience harvesting bamboo for decades. They only select 0.01% of the best available bamboo for the GreenChamp Bike. By using this way of sourcing we guarantee a stronger-than-steel frame for all GreenChamp Bikes .
